Karen has been a health care professional for more than 25 years. Karen's caregiving journey began when her parents' house was destroyed with hurricane Sandy in 2012. Her parents - at that time 92 and 89 years old, had to find options to relocate quickly. Eventually, the family decided it was best that her parents go to assisted living.
